Our Cardiovascular Lab is also state of the art, providing advanced interventions such as rotoblator and atherectomy to scrape away plaque, and intravascular ultrasound guided stenting for optimal placement of arterial opening devices. Our new Swing Room allows for improved staff and physician efficiency by rotating the catheterization camera between rooms. Three times as many patients receive angioplasty in response to myocardial infraction (heart attack) at the Heart Center as compared to like hospitals, as measured by the National Registry on Myocardial Infarction. This swing lab technological advance helps to improve our already quick response to emergent patient admissions. Finally, our conversion of data from film to digital images allows for faster recollection of patient information as well as better sharing of diagnostic images between Everett and Mt. Vernon based cardiologists and cardiac surgeons.
