Some of the most advanced equipment and techniques anywhere are available at the Heart Center. Our surgeons perform some of the most complicated arterial bypass and valve procedures available. Also, our surgeons are one of two programs in the Puget Sound area to perform a remarkable laser surgery alternative to treat chronic angina called TMR, or Transmyocardial Revascularization. It is believed that this unique approach creates small channels in the heart muscle wall, allowing increasing blood flow and stimulating arterial growth, reducing the debilitating pain of angina. The Maze procedure is a surgical treatment that cures atrial fibrillation by interrupting the electrical signals causing the arrhythmia.
