Hospice is a choice of care for people with a progressive, life-threatening illness. Hospice helps them live their final months of life to the fullest, as comfortable as possible, in the setting of their own homes. Hospice is a combination of services designed to address the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of patients, their families and loved ones. Hospice combines the best in pain control, symptom management, palliative care, and emotional and spiritual support.
Our compassionate and expert staff includes nurses, CWCN registered nurse wound care specialists, home health aides, medical social workers, chaplains, physical therapists, speech pathologists and occupational therapists, who are available to make home visits according to the patients’ needs and wishes. Trained hospice volunteers provide companionship, assistance with tasks of daily living, and respite care for caregivers.
Providence Hospice provides health care and comfort to people of all ages facing a life-threatening illness. The services provided by our team of caring professionals include:
· Individualized medical care
· Bereavement support
· Assistance with activities of daily living
· Spiritual comfort
· Respite Care
Providence Hospice is the right choice for people who want to improve the quality of their life, to be comfortable, and to know that their family will have additional support. Keeping the patient at home with family allows time for closure and resolution of family issues.
We offer bereavement support groups to help family members and loved ones cope with their grief so they are able to move on with their lives in a satisfying, productive manner with less chance of illness or dysfunction. Our bereavement services and support groups are open to anyone in the community who is grieving the loss of a loved one.
