Hospice is a special kind of care tailored to meet each individual resident and residents' family's needs and desires at the end of life. Providence Hospice addresses the needs of the whole person - including their physical, spiritual, emotional, social and family issues.
Care is provided by a specially trained and highly dedicated team, 24-hours a day, 7-days a week. Providence Hospice serves patients in private homes, nursing homes, assisted living and residential care facilities and foster homes.
Educational offerings and in-services Providence Hospice offers educational offerings and in-services long-term care facility staff and other community partners.
Conference on Making Difficult client Health Care Decisions
A Medical Perspective on Making Difficult Client Health Care Decisions is geared toward guardians, social workers and other professionals making health care decisions on behalf of their clients. The educational event, featuring Dr. Scott Armstrong, will be held September 11 at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center. Space is limited. Please register early.
New Bereavement Support Group Formed
Beginning January 18, a newly formed bereavement support group will meet on the first and third Thursday of each month at Providence Milwaukie Hospital. Free of charge, this group is led by a grief counselor to help people deal with the pain and turmoil after losing a loved one.
Patient referrals
Patients can be referred by their physicians or can request services directly from Hospice. Direct requests will be coordinated with a patient's personal physician. Please call our referral line at 503-215-CARE (2273).
