Oct. 20, 2008
PORTLAND, Ore. — In a move that brings medical services closer to people living in the areas south of Portland, Providence Bridgeport Health Center is opening near Bridgeport Village. An opening ceremony and blessing will be held at 3 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 29.
Providence Bridgeport Health Center is a new 80,000-square-foot medical facility designed to provide one-stop medical services for patients in Tigard, Tualatin and surrounding communities. The state-of-the-art center will include Providence Medical Group – Bridgeport, with family medicine physicians, dermatologists and other specialists; sleep disorder treatment; rehabilitation services and laboratory services. Day surgery will be offered in partnership with the nearby Oregon Outpatient Surgery Center.
Providence Bridgeport Health Center is designed to offer patients more convenient access to services once only performed in a hospital setting. “The Tigard/Tualatin area is expanding quickly,” said Miriam Odermann, Providence Ambulatory Services administrator. “Providence really wanted to be able to offer patients our top notch services closer to their homes.”
Construction of a similar project is currently under way on the campus of Tanasbourne Health Center in Hillsboro. Located on Northwest 185th Avenue, the expansion of Tanasbourne Health Center will be complete in early 2009. Providence Bridgeport Health Center is located at 18040 S.W. Lower Boones Ferry Road in Tigard, Oregon.
