DETAILS: Providence Milwaukie Community Gallery welcomes an exhibit of paintings by Canby artist Wendy Givens. "These images caught my attention and represent different slices of life," she says. Givens’ approach to art is to recreate for the viewer the spark that caught her attention. "I enjoy every part of the process involved in creating a painting, from the initial excitement of sketching out ideas, to the exploration of colors, values and shapes." She currently works in acrylics on canvas and oil pastels on paper. Acrylics give her the opportunity to experiment with layering colors and oil pastels offer unique textures and bright colors. Wendy's work has been exhibited throughout the Portland Metro area in recent years.

Providence Milwaukie Community Gallery was created to demonstrate Providence’s commitment to diversity. The Providence Milwaukie Community Gallery changes quarterly to showcase the diversity in our community through the works of Clackamas County artists. All proceeds from sales go directly to the exhibiting artist. The gallery is curated by the Arts Action Alliance of Clackamas County.
