DETAILS: Join Cyndi Levine, Psy.D., and Anne Lindgren, R.N., at the Providence Cancer Center’s Hope Lecture to discuss the emotional and physical impact of cancer and how the disease and treatment can affect your sexual quality of life. Learn about the myths and facts about sexual intimacy, the resources and aids available, and the importance of touch, communication, and improved self-body image.
“All cancers affect the patient’s body and the couple relationship, and there are different impacts and side effects for different cancers,” says Levine. “There are specific resources available to address the needs of the couple when one partner has had surgery, radiation, or chemotherapy – for the woman with breast or ovarian cancer – or for the man with prostate cancer.” Couples and significant others of cancer patients are encouraged to attend.
Cyndi Levine, PsyD., is a licensed counselor in Oregon and Washington with 20 years of experience providing counseling services to individuals, couples and families. Throughout her career at Providence, Anne Lindgren, R.N., supported women through their cancer experience.
