Providence Expands Epilepsy Services Throughout Portland Area

PORTLAND, Ore. — With the recent additions of two new physicians, Providence Epilepsy Services now offers specialized care for patients with epilepsy at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center, Providence Portland Medical Center and Providence Milwaukie Hospital.

Epileptologist Paula Gerber, M.D., joined the neurology division of The Oregon Clinic in August. Dr. Gerber recently completed a neurophysiology/epilepsy fellowship with David Treiman, M.D., at the Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix. Dr. Gerber has specialized expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of epilepsy, intraoperative monitoring, vagal nerve stimulation, and clinical trial research.

Neurologist Joseleeto Chua, M.D., has joined Providence Neurology Associates in Milwaukie. Dr. Chua completed his neurophysiology/epilepsy fellowship at the University of Alabama and completed a fellowship in neuroimmunology at the University of California, San Francisco. In addition to providing general neurological care, Dr. Chua specializes in epilepsy and neurological conditions in older adults.

Providence Epilepsy Services is a part of Providence Brain Institute. Doctors Gerber and Chua join Mark Yerby, M.D., who is based at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center, in expanding epilepsy care into East Portland, Gresham and Milwaukie to meet the growing needs of these communities.
