New Medical Leadership Named at Providence Milwaukie Hospital

MILWAUKIE, Ore. — Scott Browning, M.D., The Colon and Rectal Clinic, has been named Providence Milwaukie Hospital medical staff president for 2008-2010. Dr. Browning, board certified in colon and rectal surgery, received his specialty training at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, and has been in practice for more than 10 years. In 2007 he piloted the Direct Access Colonoscopy clinic at Providence Milwaukie which now serves more than 30 patients a month.
Marc Carey, M.D., Ph.D., Providence Family Medicine – Southeast, has been named Providence Milwaukie Hospital quality medical director. Dr. Carey will provide leadership, management and planning for quality management to ensure the efficient, effective delivery of quality inpatient, outpatient and community based care. Dr. Carey earned both a doctorate in neuroscience and his medical degree from Oregon Health and Science University. After completing his residency in family medicine at Providence Milwaukie Hospital, Dr. Carey joined the faculty.
