Dr. Bonta

Michelle Bonta, M.D.

Board Certified: Dermatology

Dr. Bonta greets all her patients with a smile because she feels it is a privilege to take care of people. “I want my patients to feel that they can approach me with any concern, no matter how minute it may seem to them” she says. “If something about their skin is bothering them, I want to know about it.”

After graduating with a bachelor of arts degree in molecular biophysics and biochemistry from Yale University, Dr. Bonta earned her medical degree from Harvard Medical School in Boston, Mass. She completed her residency in dermatology at Oregon Health & Science University.

Born in Jamaica, West Indies, Dr. Bonta enjoys spending time with her husband and daughters when away from her medical practice. Her favorite activities include hiking, watching movies, decorating and cultivating orchids.

Dr. Chang

Renee Chang, M.D.

Board Certified: Dermatology

In her practice, Dr. Chang strives to treat each patient as she would like to be treated. “Providing a supportive, caring and non-judgmental environment helps my patients feel comfortable,” she says. “I encourage open and honest communication, because that's the key to developing a treatment plan that promotes optimal health and well-being.”

Dr. Chang earned her medical degree at Oregon Health & Science University, where she also completed her residency in dermatology.

Raised in Kalispell, Montana, Dr. Chang appreciates all the Pacific Northwest has to offer. In her free time, she is an avid soccer player and enjoys outdoor activities with her husband and young son.

Dr. Dao

Linh Dao, M.D.

Board Certified: Internal Medicine

Dr. Dao believes his most important role as a primary care physician is to help his patients make informed choices about their health care. “My philosophy is to educate and support my patients and their families in every step of their medical decision,” he says.

“As a doctor, I enjoy not only the science and art of medicine, but alsoknowing that I have helped make a difference in my patient’s health andquality of life,” adds Dr. Dao.

Dr. Dao graduated magna cum laude with degrees in cell biology and chemistry from the University of Rochester in Rochester, N.Y. He earned his medical degree from the Texas A&M University College of Medicine in College Station, Texas, and completed his internal medicine residency at Oregon Health & Science University.

Born in Vietnam, Dr. Dao likes to travel and “explore his creative potential” through art and photography. He also enjoys golf, tennis and skiing.

Dr. Eardley

Dianne Eardley, M.D.

Board Certified: Internal Medicine

Dr. Eardley was born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa. She earned her medical degree at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg in 1984, and practiced medicine in South Africa until she moved to Portland, Oregon, in 1991. She completed her internal medicine residency at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center.

In her practice, Dr. Eardley emphasizes women’s health care. She is a strong advocate of health education and preventative care. “My role as a primary care physician is to take care of the whole patient,” she says. “Complete patient care takes into account the mental, physical and social aspects of health.”

Outside of the office, Dr. Eardley is an active sports enthusiast. Her favorite sports are soccer, swimming and squash.

Dr. Khary

Victorya Khary, M.D.

Board Certified: Internal Medicine

Dr. Khary enjoys working with her patients as a team. “The patient’s role in health care is very important,” she says. “All patients need to be active participants in their own health care decisions.” As a primary care provider, Dr. Khary provides preventive care, offers up-to-date medical information, provides diagnostic and treatment services and coordinates the care her patients receive from other providers.

Dr. Khary was born in Odessa, Ukraine, and has lived in Portland since 1975. She speaks both English and Russian fluently. She graduated with high honors in science and psychology from the Portland State University Honors Program, and earned her medical degree at Oregon Health & Science University. She completed her residency at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center.

In her free time, Dr. Khary enjoys hiking, gardening, cooking, watching movies and remodeling.

Dr. Kimura

Hidenao Kimura, M.D.

Board Certified: Internal Medicine

Dr. Kimura became a doctor because he felt a career dedicated to caring for others would be rewarding and satisfying, noting that he chose primary care because it gives him the opportunity to establish long-term relationships with patients. “What I enjoy most about being a doctor is having a good relationship with my patients and being able to make a positive impact on their illness.”

In his practice, Dr. Kimura emphasizes the importance of listening and having compassion for his patients. “I think it is very important for physicians to put themselves in their patients’ position.”

After earning his medical degree from Georgetown University in Washington D.C., Dr. Kimura completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine. He is board certified in internal medicine.

Away from his practice, he enjoys soccer, tennis, and skiing, which he frequently does with his family.

 

Jean Lee, M.D.

Board Certified: Internal Medicine

Dr. Jean Lee decided to become a doctor because it would give her the opportunity to meet people’s physical as well as emotional needs. “Helping people in this way is something unique to this profession,” she says.

Dr. Lee received her undergraduate degree from Cornell University, Ithaca, N.Y., in biochemistry. She completed her medical degree, internship and residency at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia.

Dr. Lee was born in the Philadelphia area and is married with two children. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, watching movies, playing tennis and skiing.

 

Dr. Luu

Vien Thao Luu, M.D.

Board Certified: Internal Medicine

“Practicing medicine involves more than just diagnosis and treatment of diseases; it requires compassion and understanding of patients,” says Dr. Luu. “My philosophy of care was best expressed by Dr. Francis Peabody, who said, ‘The secret of the care of the patient is in caring for the patient.’” Beyond her dedication to individual patients, Dr. Luu is committed to her longstanding desire to improve the health of the community as a whole.

Born in Saigon (now Ho Chi Minh City), Vietnam, Dr. Luu earned her medical degree at Westfalia Wilhelms University in Münster, Germany. She completed her internship and residency here in the United States at the University of Virginia, Roanoke-Salem. Besides English, she speaks German and Vietnamese.

Outside of her work, Dr. Luu enjoys volunteering, aerobic exercise and spending time with her family.

Dr. Scott

B.J. Scott, M.D.

Board Certified: Internal Medicine

Dr. Scott views her role as a physician as that of advisor, providing her patients with options for care. “I believe that ultimately, a patient should be in charge of his or her own health and well-being,” she says. “I tend to see my role as one where I listen to my patients and then provide advice and options.”

Dr. Scott is board certified in internal medicine and has a special interest in geriatrics. She earned her medical degree at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, and completed her internship and residency at Mercy Hospital in San Diego, Calif.

Raised in rural Georgia, Dr. Scott loves to traveling and talking to others about their travels. Away from her practice, she likes to spend time with her daughter. She also enjoys music, playing both the piano and recorder.

Dr. Stevens

Kristin Stevens, M.D., Ph.D.

Board Certified: Dermatology

Dr. Stevens feels her most important role as a physician is to be a source of education, motivation and reassurance for her patients. “Dermatology is a very visual specialty and patients tend to be more concerned about a condition that they or others can see, even though the condition itself may not be harmful” she explains. “I enjoy taking the time to listen to my patients’ concerns and encourage them to take an active role in their own care.”

After graduating summa cum laude from the University of New Mexico with a degree in biochemistry, Dr. Stevens earned her medical degree from the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. She completed her internship at Baylor and her residency at the University of Texas at Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. Dr. Stevens is board certified in dermatology.

Dr. Tsai

Richard Tsai, M.D.

Board Certified: Internal Medicine

In his practice, Dr. Tsai emphasizes prevention, education, and listening to his patients. “I believe that prevention is the best medicine,” he says. “A good primary care provider can identify early signs or risk factors and prevent a disease from having a significant impact on a patient’s life.”

Dr. Tsai assures his patients that he will always listen to their concerns. He also is committed to teaching his patients about their health issues. “An educated patient is an empowered patient,” he says. “I try to educate my patients about their health concerns so they can take charge of their health.”

Dr. Tsai graduated phi beta kappa in biophysics from Johns Hopkins University. He attended Washington University School of Medicine and completed his residency at University of North Carolina Hospitals.

In his free time, Dr. Tsai enjoys working with computers, building models, rafting and skiing.

Dr. Turner

Lisa Turner, M.D.

Board Certified: Dermatology

Dr. Turner completed her medical degree at the University of Chicago, and stayed there to complete her residency in dermatology. Following her residency, she practiced in Chicago for three years as part of a multi specialty group affiliated with Northwestern University Hospitals.

Dr. Turner’s philosophy is that when it comes to patient care, no concern is too small. She feels that as a dermatologist, she can do much to improve the quality of life for her patients. “It’s really rewarding to see patients who are happy because their skin is improved,” she says.

Outside of the office, Dr. Turner enjoys spending time with her husband, Craig Turner, M.D., a urologist and their daughters, Kate and Jamie.
