We can answer questions about Providence’s standard charges for specific medical services and procedures. However, to determine how much you will owe, you will need to check your insurance coverage.
Even if you are not quite ready to have a medical service or procedure, speaking to one of our trained Estimating staff members as early as possible may be a great help to you. We can estimate average charges for many of our common procedures to help with your planning and decision making. After talking with you about your individual circumstances, we also can help you assess how much you may owe for your health care services after your health benefits are applied.
When you call, please provide the CPT procedure code for the medical service or procedure that you want us to estimate. This code, which identifies a specific medical service, is available through your physician’s office.
Estimates are based on “usual and customary” charges. Actual charges on the final hospital bill may vary based on your medical condition, unknown circumstances or complications, final diagnosis, and recommended treatment ordered by your physician. Your financial responsibility also may vary from actual charges depending on insurance coverage.
When comparing charges with other hospitals or provider practices, it is important to understand that their charges may or may not include both the hospital charges and the charges for services provided by doctors or other providers.
