Comprehensive risk screening
Pregnancy brings many feelings and questions. Although you may feel happy and excited about your pregnancy, sometimes there are difficult situations at home or work or stressful situations in your life that leave you with questions and the need for information and resources. You may have special needs and be unsure how to find ways to address those needs. The purpose of our risk screening is to identify challenges or problems you may be facing and then help with support and resources. Our goal is to help you to have a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby.
At Providence Beginnings, we may be able to help you:
Find a prenatal care provider
Build support in stressful situations involving family, relationships and work
Many women have no need to come to the Family Maternity Center until it is time for the birth of their babies. Some pregnancies have complications or other special needs that may require a visit to the center before your baby is born. Completing your hospital pre-registration by the end of your 24th week of your pregnancy will ensure that the staff at the hospital will be ready for your arrival should you need to come in early. The pre-registration form will ask for the name of your baby’s doctor.
Choosing a doctor for your baby is important, as this provider will care for your child for many years. You can search for a doctor online or call Providence Resource Line at 503-574-6595 (toll-free 1-800-562-8964) for help in finding a doctor for your baby.
Once you decide on a doctor confirm three things:
Confirm that your provider can accept your insurance.
Confirm that the provider can accept your baby as a new patient (some practices are closed to new patients).
Confirm that the provider you choose will be able to come to your birth hospital to do your baby’s physical exam after the birth.
