Good Vibes noontime concerts Live music returns to the William Gray III Courtyard at Providence Cancer Center with the Good Vibes Concert Series, beginning July 9. Bring your lunch, or buy it from the Providence Fresh Express food cart. The series is sponsored by the Providence Cancer Center, Providence Portland Medical Center's Employee Activities Committee, and Music Millennium. Providence Cancer Center is now recognized as one of the nation’s best community cancer facilities by the National Cancer Institute. Providence is among 14 new sites chosen by the institute, part of the National Institutes of Health, to join a national network of community cancer centers offering expanded research opportunities and state-of-the art cancer care. This selection is the first of this type in the Northwest and comes with $2.8 million over the next two years to fund the expansion of programs already making a difference in cancer care and research.

Schedule a mammogram Mammogram screening is an important step in the early detection of breast cancer. If you are 40 and older, or if you're younger and think you’re at high risk, we encourage you to schedule an appointment for a screening mammogram (fees apply). Breast self-examinations In addition to receiving regular mammogram screenings, you are encouraged to lead a healthy lifestyle, visit your physician regularly, and pay attention to how your breasts look and feel. Look out for thickening or lumps. If you notice any changes, contact your physician.
Online community support available for patients and caregivers Breast cancer patients and others can access CarePages for extra support, in addition to the breast care services available through Providence Health & Services.
Research offers hope for young patients with Hodgkin's lymphoma and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma Research into more effective therapies at Providence Cancer Center is paying off with very high-quality survivorship and long life for many patients diagnosed with lymphoma, according to Lymphoma Program medical director Craig Nichols, M.D. Learn more.
