Miles Hassell, M.D.

“Our Integrative Medicine program highlights evidence-based but unconventional therapies, and assists in integrating these within a conventional medical model. Providence is one of a few cancer centers nationwide that emphasize integrative medicine.”
Training: Dr. Hassell was raised and educated in Australia, where he also completed his internship in medicine. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center and is a board-certified internist.
Special interests: Dr. Hassell specializes in patient-directed, noninvasive, non-pharmacological approaches to medicine. His therapies emphasize natural approaches such as exercise, diet and natural medicines.
Loch Chandler, N.D., MSOM, L.Ac.
“I enjoy working closely with the other practitioners who are a part of a person's health care team to help minimize the side effects of cancer treatment. By helping to relieve side effects, we can help improve the patient's quality of life and help support their recovery process.”
Training: Dr. Chandler is a graduate of the National College of Naturopathic Medicine in Portland.
Special interests: Dr. Chandler is a licensed acupuncturist and naturopathic doctor. His training and therapies incorporate a variety of treatment types, including naturopathic medicine, nutritional and supplement assessment, Chinese medicine and acupuncture.
Cindy Reuter, N.D., MSOM, L.Ac., R.D.
“I believe there is wellness and wholeness in all people, regardless of their diagnosis. I enjoy helping patients find healing in ways that meet their unique needs, and collaborating with other providers to provide the best patient care.”
Training: Dr. Reuter earned her doctorate’s degree from the National College of Naturopathic Medicine in Portland. She received her undergraduate degree in Nutrition and Clinical Dietetics from the University of California, Berkeley.
Special interests: Dr. Reuter is trained in naturopathic medicine, nutrition, acupuncture and Chinese medicine. In addition to her academic degrees, Dr. Reuter is a registered dietician.
Ken Weizer, N.D.

Training: Dr. Weizer is a graduate of the National College of Naturopathic Medicine in Portland.
Special interests: Dr. Weizer offers a broad range of naturopathic medicine services including nutritional and herbal medicine, stress reduction and hydrotherapy.
Tony Borcich, L.M.T., L.M.P.
“The touch and caring presence of massage diminishes feelings of distance, isolation and anxiety that accompany the cancer diagnosis; and diminishes some of the side effects of cancer treatment.”
Training: Tony attended the Oregon School of Massage and is a graduate of the University of Oregon.
Special interests: Tony is a licensed massage therapist in Oregon and Washington. His continuing education has focused on massage of cancer, hospice and medically fragile patients.
Mary Malinski, B.A., R.N., L.M.T.
“As a licensed massage therapist and nurse, I have personally seen the full range of massage’s therapeutic benefits for cancer patients – reduction of pain, nausea and anxiety, and relaxation and sleep promotion.”
Training: Mary earned her nursing degree from the University of Puget Sound and Tacoma General Hospital in Washington, and attended the Oregon School of Massage and Marylhurst University.
Special interests: Mary devotes her time to coordinating the Integrative Medicine Program’s patient education and physician outreach programs. In addition, she serves as a massage therapist for the program. She is trained primarily in Swedish massage and Therapeutic Touch, and has specialized training in massage for hospitalized and cancer patients.
Stephanie Russell, L.M.T.

Training: Stephanie attended Ashmead College Professional. Massage Therapy Program. She is a licensed massage therapist in the state of Oregon.
Special interests: Stephanie works to eliminate pain, increase range of motion and balance the body with techniques such as craniosacral therapy, myofascial release and structural integration.

Laurie, the Integrative Medicine Program clinic coordinator, has 25 years of experience as an office support person serving in the medical field.
Katie Malone
“It is my goal to make our patients' experience a pleasant one, so that they, and their providers, can focus on what is most important: healing.”
Katie is the primary administrative support person at the west-side integrative medicine clinic.
