Multi-specialty breast cancer conferences are held weekly at the Spear Center and at Providence Portland Medical Center. At these conferences, physicians present new or particularly difficult cases to their colleagues to solicit collaborative input on the best approaches to the management, treatment and follow-up of individual patients.
Breast cancer surgeons, oncologists, plastic surgeons, radiation oncologists, nurses, social workers and other health care providers who have a special interest in breast cancer attend these conferences. Through these conferences, patients benefit from the combined knowledge of medical professionals from multiple disciplines, and gain access to the latest treatments available through clinical trials.
