Extra Support for Lung Cancer Patients
After directing programs for children, teens and families for several years, Mark Weinmeister graduated from Portland State University with his Master of Social Work degree and began working with families dealing with death and dying as a hospice social Worker. As a licensed clinical social worker and certified oncology social worker, he currently works with cancer patients and their families at Providence Cancer Center specializing in thoracic cancers. Mark also uses his clinical experience around chronic illness, grief and life transitions as a psychotherapist in private practice.

The Use of Mind-Body Skills in Cancer Care
Jocelyn’s clinical focus is on helping people to cope and improving their quality of life when they experience a life-threatening illness. Along with teaching problem-solving skills to patients and their families, Jocelyn uses mind-body techniques such as relaxation, journaling, meditation, and guided imagery to help people decrease emotional distress.

Dr. Hassell specializes in patient-directed, noninvasive, non-pharmacological approaches to medicine in combination with conventional therapies. He emphasizes natural approaches such as exercise, diet and natural medicines.

Dr. Ross has a special interest and expertise in lung cancer. She has been the lead investigator on numerous lung cancer clinical trials and has lectured extensively throughout her career. Her research interests include vaccine therapies and other treatments that use the body's immune system to fight cancer.
