Each child has special gifts and talents. Some have special needs. Providence offers health care and educational services designed especially for children. It is our goal to help children stay healthy, overcome illness or injury, gain confidence and maximize their abilities.

Children’s Inpatient Care Unit
In the event that you child needs to be hospitalized, the Children’s Inpatient Care Unit at Providence St. Vincent provides specialized, kid-friendly care. Opened in 2006, the unit is designed for children who have uncomplicated medical and surgical illnesses, but who need a brief hospital stay.
Gerry Frank Center for Children’s Care and Neurodevelopmental Services
Children’s surgical services opened at Providence St. Vincent in 2003 with an outpatient surgical program in Gerry Frank Center. If your child needs surgery or neurodevelopmental services, the Gerry Frank Center can help with complete family-oriented medical services, including treatment, education, and emotional support.
Children’s Emergency Care at Providence St. Vincent offers complete emergency medical services for children from birth to 17 years of age. Nearly 15,000 children were treated by the department in 2007 for complaints ranging from fevers and seizures to broken bones and eating disorders.
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
Special care for special babies. That's what the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at Providence St. Vincent is all about. Designed for critically ill newborns and their families, our Level III, state-of-the-art facility is the only NICU in Washington County. Many of the infants in the NICU are born prematurely and need special care while they grow. Others are full-term babies who need medical or surgical treatment.
Providence Child Center
Providence Child Center provides a rich continuum of services for children including skilled nursing care, a Montessori School, a child development program, and comprehensive neurodevelopmental evaluation and treatment services.
Outpatient Nutrition Services for Children
Center for Medically Fragile Children
The Center for Medically Fragile Children at Providence Child Center is the only nursing facility in the Northwest providing skilled care exclusively for children in a residential setting.
Providence Neurodevelopmental Center for Children - Pediatric Therapy and Rehabilitation
The Providence Neurodevelopmental Center for Children (PNCC) offers comprehensive, multidisciplinary evaluation and treatment for children from infancy to 18 years of age.

Jean Baton Swindells Resource Center for Children and Families
The Jean Baton Swindells Resource Center for Children and Families provides assistance, information, resources and education on a variety of disability related subjects to families, caregivers and friends of children with special needs. The Swindells Resource Center was established as a drop-in facility.
Providence Montessori School
Providence Montessori School opens the world to young children, providing a safe and loving environment where they can learn and explore. Our goal is to prepare children for a lifetime of creative thinking and learning. Children receive a broad academic education in the context of a carefully planned, stimulating community and environment.
Providence WeeCare Child Development Center
Providence Wee Care is a place of laughter and learning for children ages 6 weeks to 6 years. Since 1991, we have helped the children of Providence Health & Services employees and other families in our local community grow intellectually, physically, socially and emotionally.
Providence Eating Disorders Program
This comprehensive program has been successfully treating adults and adolescents with anorexia nervosa, bulimia and atypical eating disorders since 1982.
Providence Gately Youth Services
Gately Child and Adolescent Day Treatment is an intensive day program that combines psychotherapy, therapeutic activities and academics to address the needs of emotionally disturbed youth 11-18 years old. Referrals are primarily initiated by the students' school district.
Gately Academy is a private middle school for students with ADD/HD and/or learning disabilities.
Inpatient Mental Health for children and adolescents
Providence Health & Services provides comprehensive mental health evaluations that help diagnose each young person's individual problems and needs. We can then develop a personalized treatment plan and help families get the mental health resources they need.
