Oregon
Where can you put in a full day of work in the city and by late evening be at the
beach finishing off a meal of fresh Pacific salmon; enjoying a roaring fire in a
mountain lodge; or camping on a high desert river with nothing but the stars above
you for company? If any of our locations in western Oregon came to mind, you'd be
right.
Providence in Oregon
The Sisters of Providence built Oregon's first permanent hospital in 1875, and our
reputation here is as good as it is long. With seven hospitals, we are Oregon's
leading provider of health care. Our locations throughout western Oregon provide
a range of lifestyle options, from Seaside on the north coast to Portland and Hood
River along the Washington border, and south to Medford just 30 miles from California.

Living in Oregon
Oregonians are a miscellaneous lot, from cattle ranchers to green-industry innovators
and commercial fishermen to organic winemakers. Nonetheless, certain shared values
transcend our diversity, namely, our deep appreciation for the environment, tolerance
for others and compassion for neighbors in need. The people of Providence are part
and parcel of this milieu, living out the Providence mission in Oregon's small towns
and big cities.
